Project Overview

  •

CODE: in communications and information processing, a system of rules (algorithm) to convert information—such as a letter, word, sound, image, or gesture—into another form or representation, sometimes shortened or secret, for communication through a channel or storage in a medium.

RACE: tribe, gender, family, route, sprint......

A project among friends that share many commons in their official curriculums and they believe that coding, programming and ICT can be collaborative and fun.

    AIMS

Design activities so that our students to:

    • Learn the basics of algorithms and of coding

    • Approach basic programming concepts

    • Develop digital literacy skills

    • Develop creativity and imagination

    • Develop communication skills in English and collaborative skills through coding

In a nutshell...students to get engaged with coding as a medium for computational thinking, problem-solving, communication, creativity and fun.

    WORK PROCESS

Partners will adopt activities to their curriculum.

Exchange of ideas, students projects sharing and remixing, introduction of programming environments, new teaching approaches is what we need to have a meaningful collaboration.

We will start by teaching the basic concepts of algorithms and coding.

A common for all classes programming languange will be scratch but others like logo or environments like pencil code, microbit, .... can also be used if  teachers decide them as convinient for their classes.

Students will work in individually, or as pairs or teams according to teachers decision and we will work cooperatively in prescheduled activities and collaboratively as classes mainly during  LIVE EVENTS.

In a nutshell ... a freestyle project with sharing of ideas and practices and with interction among students through their projects and via LIVE EVENTS

    EXPECTED RESULTS

We hope that by the end of the project students will be engaged in coding and they enjoy working together.

As "side-effects", the students will make new friends, they will participate in activities which will motivate them to use English, learn about the countries of their partners and share ideas.

We hope we will manage to develop interesting and engaging activities using coding that can be reused in the future.

All activities and productions will be embedded in twinspace and summarized in an ebook.
