First we build the clinometers:

-stick the paper protractor on a cardboard  

- fasten a string at the top in the centre of the cardboard as above with a weight at the end

For use:

•1. Point object with large side, leaving string free
• 2. Wait until it stabilizes and then block it with your finger.
•3. Read the rapporteur’s angle.

-repeat this action every 10 degrees from east to west using a compass
