As every year a group of pupils of the sixth grade attended at a ceramic workshop in the afternoon. This year we decided to focus on one of the topic of the project: Opposition to racism and fanaticism.
So first the class discussed what racism means and how we can fight it, then they modelled with clay small objects, following the suggestions given by the teacher, Angela maria furnari, and using their creativity
They worked in couples modelling two people hugging. The people had to match each other in ahug.
They modelled doves as a symbols of peace and pot support with positive words and many other objects
When the clay dryed it was cooked in the ceramnic oven to became earthenware.
The pupils painted the object wih ceramic enamel then they were cooked again to became ceramic
Here are some finished objects. the two people hugging were painted one white and the oher was on glazed keeping the original colour of terracotta
At the beginning of June Istituto Costa organized a charity event in which most the objects were sold to sudsidize the Solidarity Fund of the school
