«The Music School of  Komotini is pleased to announce the launch of the Erasmus + project entitled «Technology and ICT in education». The forward-looking cooperation project is in the framework of the Erasmus programme and in keeping the long-standing tradition of genuine cooperation with schools across Europe on the part of the Music School of Komotini.

The project will run from 01.09.2017 to 31.08.2019. The partnership is composed of organizations representing four countries, namely Greece, Italy, Sweden and Turkey.

The project is based on four pillars:
    - the enhancement of students’ knowledge of ICT tools and their applications in the learning process
    -  the development of practical skills ( use of digital tools, e-quizzes, digital works of art) which are associated with mini-lessons’ planning
    -  interaction among students of participating countries and involvement of these students in cultural events and collaborative activities , with a view to encouraging cross-cultural understanding, mutual respect  and tolerance.
    -  First-hand experience of living and studying in a foreign country which will result in increased adaptability of the students as well as awareness of the fact that Europe is a diverse, yet unitary part of the world.

The impact of the project on the development of innovative teaching approaches will be long-running and the benefits for all the students involved in the project will be manifold. Students will be involved in their own learning with a view to becoming autonomous and empowered learners closing the gap between current and desired achievement.

Given the fact that the use of smart phones is an integral part of teenagers’ daily life, the project will encourage students to embrace the ‘smart’ use of state-of-the-art information technology in order to develop mobile applications.

Both students and teachers will make the most of the unique opportunity to enhance their ICT skills as well as their command of the English language by using it in an authentic, daily-life setting. Students will gain insight in what it means to be European and will broaden their horizons through interaction with other cultures. As a result, they will gain self-confidence and develop their ingenuity.

The project involves transnational meetings and a total of 26 students and teachers will  take part in this learning mobility. The first LTTA meeting will be held in Komotini, Greece from 4th-10th February 2018, followed by a second meeting in Italy  in the same year, ( April 2018), and further meetings in Turkey and Sweden (2019).

The welcoming ceremony for foreign students and teachers visiting the hosting school ( Music School of Komotini)  will take place on 5th February 2018  at 6:30 p.m. at the auditorium of the Music School of Komotini.
The event will be open to the public».
