Our project was presented in a radio show on the Third Program of Croatian Radio
The theme of the radio show called “Okrugli stol ponedjeljkom” – “Roundtable on Mondays” on the third program of Croatian Radio, was the Croatian film and its value for society, especially for the education of children and young people. One of the guests on the show was the coordinator of our project, Stojanka Lesički. In the last part of the show she talked about our project “Small step for film, and big one for European citizenship”. The host and author of the show is professor Danijel Labaš, and the editor of the show is Željko Rogišić.

From today Croatian version of e-book “Small step for film, a big one for European citizenship”, is avaliable to all interested teachers in Croatia. News about our e-book was published on Edutorij.
Edutorij is repository of digital educational content that enables publishing, accesing, storing and exchanging od digital educational content that was created by Croatian teachers and students from elementary and high schools, but also by experts from other educational institutions.

At the end of our review of the Erasmus + student exchange in Spain, we want to say that we have stayed in Madrid at The Hat hostel. An interestingly arranged hostel on the wall in the lobby has the following sentence: “Where I lay my hat that’s my home”.
The hospitality of our hosts during this five-day exchange has contributed to make us feel like home. Spain was like our home and that’s why we will remember the days spent in Madrid, Toledo and Manzanares.

Gender equality was the main topic of the third students exchange as part of the Erasmus+ project … which is coordinated by elementary school St. Petar Orehovec. The exchange took place in Spain, from 28th of January to 1st February in cities Madrid, Toledo, and Manzanares which is the host hometown.
By playing a role play game on the workshop in school IES AZUER in Manzanares students have learned a few keywords connected to gender equality. The main point and the message of this workshop was defined by workshop leader Ana Fernandez de Vega: “Being a boy or girl could mean everything you want to”. The whole fourth day we have stayed at host school because that day was devoted to teaching stop animation. How to make an animated film whit that technique was taught by Coke Riobóo, a famous Spanish artist, author of film music and numerous animated films. For one of them (“El viaje de Said”), he received Goya, the most significant Spanish film awards,( their Oscar) in 2007.

The main event of the day was the final show in school’s hall that was decorated with baloons. Among the dancers, who have danced few impressive dances, was also Belinda, very likable participant of the students exchange in Poland.
Our friend Toni was in the organizers team for this event. Again Toni showd us how fun he is and he also showed his generosity by sending a nice gift to his Croatian friend David Lučki from previous exchange. He has also surprised our project coordinator with a nice photo of two of them and with a very touching letter.
It became tradition that every exchange ends with tears. Before saying goodbye we danced and had nice dinner with Spanish specialties and the most interesting was giant bread with Erasmus+ written on it.

Roundtable discussion ¨Look what is important to me!¨ – learning about children’s rights trough children film creations, was held as part of the programme of the 10th Festival of the right of the children, on Thursday, November 11 in the small auditorium of Tuškanac cinema in Zagreb.
Our project coordinator Stojanka Lesički was one of the participants in that discussion. She has talked a bit about our Erasmus+ project and emphasized that trough the process of filmmaking, children are accomplishing their right to express and right to education and development of critical thinking.

In our digital school papers klincek.com, we published three articles about the student exchange in Poland. The topics of the article “Above the clouds to Poland” (3 October) are workshops held during the exchange, visit to Krakow and Sandomierz as well as the impressions of our students on traveling by plane.
In the article titled “Dziękuję to Polish friends,” (10 October) we wrote about the visit to The Film Museum and The Walk of Fame in Łódź, a visit to Escape room, food and restaurants, and new friendships. Here is a part of the text about a cheerful member of the Spanish team – Toni.
Toni – the most cheerful member of the Spanish team
Toni was the most cheerful student from Spanish Erasmus+ team. We noticed him on our trip from Krakow Airport to our place of residence in Kolbuszowa. He was very impressed by some Croatian words and immediately started making fun with it. He was always the first volunteer on each workshop, as well as in the museum in Sandomierz where he was the first to put on a military armor. Later on, he continued trying out female gowns from the Middle age. The real show started when he couldn’t take them off because they were too tight. Joker Toni will be remembered by his hoodie with print on the back The youth will decide our future but mostly by his continuous singing of Lo, lo, lo song.
In the third article titled “Visit the Death Factory”, (15 October) student Paola Tukša wrote her impression after the visit to the concentration camp Auschwitz.

Our repository was presented (4 October) to public on web portal medijskapismenost.hr. In the article “Civic education lecture: short film and workshop about the protection of children’s rights” they have published one whole workshop and also presented our repository and goals of this Erasmus+ project.
Web portal medijskapismenost.hr started in 2016 and it is the most important media project that covers topics connected to media literacy. Portal was founded by Agency for Electronic Media, UNICEF, UNICEF, Faculty of Political Science of Zagreb University, Croatian Film Association, and Academy of Dramatic Art. /Stojanka Lesički/

Klinček about workshop of film editing
These days students are preparing for shooting of a short documentary. They will record films on mobile phones about themselves. Their task is to present themselves in short documentary to other participants of the first students exchange. That is why they have learned how to make a screenplay for the film last week.

Platform media literacy about our Erasmus+ project
Our project was main topic of an article that was published on medijskapismenost.hr The platform started its work last year as a product of campaign “Let’s choose what we are watching” supported by Agency for Electronic Media and UNICEF.
New partners such as Academy of Dramatic Arts, Faculty of Political Science, Croatian Audiovisual Centre, and Croatian Film Association were happy to support platform and share their knowledge in media literacy. They have teamed up to create a platforme with main purpose to help teachers and also parents “in improving their own media literacy and children’s media skills and knowledge. /S.L./
