The Ministry of Education, Research, Culture and Sports of Spain held on November 9 and 10 the II CTEM International Congress "STEM for citizens" on the campus of Burjassot of the University of Valencia. The meeting was organized in collaboration with the University of Valencia and the "Casa de la Ciencia" of the CSIC.
This conference is part of the 2018 Plan for the participation and training of teachers.
The Department of Biology, from IES Clara Campoamor, has participated with the paper: "Agenda 2030. ABP Project:" Healthy breakfast ", this work has been done within the Erasmus + program:" Agenda 2030: That's our challenge! "
In the congress, the aim was to promote, in short, the exchange of experiences, projects and research that show how students learn to work as scientists, who propose situations in which they can exercise their citizenship by taking decisions and managing the repercussions Scientific-technical that they have in their lifestyles, and that promote a motivating, responsible and committed learning with this area of knowledge.
The II CTEM International Congress has been carried out with the motto "STEM for citizens" and wanted to explore the idea of scientific literacy in order to address the social dimension and, especially, the role of science education, technology and mathematics in the formation of critical and responsible citizenship, capable of responding to the great scientific and technological challenges of the 21st century: innovation, digitization, large data management, climate change or artificial intelligence.
