    Questions from Malta to France

Well, first of all we watched the french town and the children liked it very much.  Selichia asked 'Can we go there please?' 'Where would we stay?'  I had to explain by using my class globe that you are quite far away from us.  Here are the children admiring Anderos le Bain.  They felt it was a very nice place to live in.

And then they had another question.  This time Hose' asked why your sea looks different in google maps from ours.  He noticed that there were 'dark fingers' in the sea and this was different from our Marsaskala sea.  Our Marsaskala sea has patches of light and dark blue which is sand in the sea bed.  His question is 'What are those lines?' 'What do they mean?'

Thank you .... we await your students answers :)

    The children from Andernos explain:

The sea water is green because the sea is not deep at all and there are alguas. The fingers called "chenaux" are like roads for boats where the water is deeper. At the bottom of the bay, we sometimes (at low tide) have no water at all ! ( Marc, Arthur, Nour and Axel).

Thank you for the explanation.  The children had never heard of tides before because in Malta it does not affect us much.  Infact they liked the photo above ... it interested them.

    Questions from Malta to Munich

Today (9th May) we look at the video from the German school.  The children like the school and were very interested that there is a train station close by.  We do not have trains in Malta.  They observe that the city of Munich is not near the sea.  They ask 'Have the children ever been to the sea?'

Hose' (one of my curious students) notices that Munich seems very green compared to Marsaskala.  He wants to know what this means?

Thank you, we await your reply :)

    The children from Munich answer:

Most of the children  have already been to the sea in France. Benjamin went to Spain. Victor comes from Quebec and over there is the sea .

Victor think that Marsaskala is brown because there is a castle (we saw it on the video).

Ines:It is brown because there is sand. Benjamin: It's brown because it is very hot in Malta!

Munich is green because there are a lot of trees. Nathalie

The children were surprised to learn that there are no trains in Malta.

Leopold asked: How do you go on holidays?

    Malta's reply

We looked at the video you posted about munich and here is what the kids said

'I like the cars at night (showroom) and if I lived there I would sleep on the grass'

They told me that they travel by plane.   Hose' goes to Sicily by boat.  They have been to EuroDisney France (luca) and Suzanna told me that today her grandma is coming from Poland by aeroplane.  They are quite travelled actually - some have been to Livigno, Italy, Hungary and England.

    Malta to Turkey

I showed the children the photos on twinspace which showed Ms Burcu and her students.  They were very excited because they all thought that Ms Burcu looks like Selichia's mum.  Selichia says 'My mum is a very beautiful princess' so I think this is a nice compliment for Ms Burcu too.

They look at the video of Adana and things that captured their attention were ' the trains and the long bridge' ... Do the billy goat gruffs live there? someone asked.

We also see a satellite image of Kirikli ... the patches of land surrounding it look very similiar to how the Maltese farm their land.

Comments from France to Malta about the Girna:

We prefer the 4th Girna because the stones don't collapse and it is easy to make (no drawings).

We notice that there is no window on your Girna. We also notice that to build the girna, when you put 2 stones on basment, on top of them, you have to put one in the middle of the 2 others. This is the way to make walls. Your girna is cute !!
