What does your city or town look like ? We need here the children's representations, their comments and feelings. Let's visit our different places of life through the eyes of the little ones. What is important and woth to visit for them ? What are their favourite places. You can also add interactive maps...
At Maternelle Capsus, before studiing on the town or the city, we wanted to know what the pupils knew so we asked them : "What is a town or a city ?" They answered : It is made of many houses, flats, buildings, restaurants, shops, churches... but mainly with houses as far as Andernos les Bains is concerned.
So, without any explanations, The teacher asked the pupils to build paper houses by themselves as they wanted to But the houses had to stand all by themselves (3D).

18th May - How do you get to school?
The children were given a street map and were asked to take this home and mark their way (with the help of their lovely parents, of course). At school today they explained their route to school and we even found it on google maps. They were interested in the satellite map and I showed them a live video of a satellite going around the World. Here are the photos of the children holding the map, near the computer showing satellite vision of their street. Some parents even sent some comments of what the children said :
Maya said 'We go to school riding my scooter by the sea'
Illiyana first wanted to walk in a straight line over the water, but then wanted to walk to the beach, before she let me show her the way to school. I explained the landmark on the way (Written by Illiyana's mum)

Let's discover Munich from the sky!
We went for a walk around our school. Then we tried to recognize the things we saw on GoogleEarth.
After our walk around the school, we put the photos on the Beebot mate and BeeBot had to go through the same places. We had fun programing BeeBot!
