The common thread of this project, which will be implemented in Trento as well as in Bangalore area, capital of the Indian state of Karnataka, lies on encouraging employment and increasing the value of local human capital, with special focus on the most disadvantaged categories, for example women and young people. This project is carried out through a know-how exchanging in the craft textile industry between the two involved areas, in order to create a common Italo-Indian product. Central to this initiative will be the involvement of the Centro Moda of Trento: this Fashion Centre will supply cloth models that afterwards will be created by Indian companies (among which you can find FabIndia network), together with Indian women of the Bangalore area, according to the procedures specified in the following paragraphs of this document. Subsequently, the clothes will be introduced on the Italian market, especially through a website already under construction. Indian fabrics will be used, and a group of selected Indian companies will be responsible for the production of the clothes starting from the Italian model; on the other hand, groups of women involved in the programme of the local association Brothers Integrated Rural Development Society (BIRDS) will finalize the product providing labels with the GreenFarmMovement logo. Therefore, this project is based on three types of actions: cooperation between the context of Trentino and the Indian one; local development, which will trigger a self-sustainability mechanism inside both target areas; business, which will bring onto the market a sustainable and ethically correct model of entrepreneurship and production. The sustainability of this initiative is based on the implementation dynamics of these actions, as well as on the involvement of subjects who are totally inside the main socio-cultural contexts: GreenFarmMovement as a promoter, BIRDS/The Sacred Heart Brothers as local partners, Indian women and the Centro Moda of Trento as main direct and indirect receivers of the project.
