Feedback and evaluation of Meeting in Zaragoza

  • The meeting in Utebo has now concluded, I tjhink we all had a fabulous and informative week.

On a cold and Grey Baltic late Autumn, our Lithuanian hosts set a very high Benchmark in terms of hospitality, warmth and memories and that hospitality and kindness has  been matched by the welcome received in Spain.

In this section can staff and students alike leave feedback comments about the week.

    Utebo

The goal of this Erasmus+ project was to enable teenagers discover the new range of jobs generated by the implementation of sustainable development in their school area or across Europe and help them widen, enrich and update their career plans.
During the project we were introduced to Spain’s waste management and sorting system. We spent the week by listening to lectures, participating in classes and discussions, communicating with our new friends from England, Martinique, Romania, Norway, Germany and of course Spain. Before going to Spain, we’ve prepared a presentation about “Daumantai LT” production and about local store “Muilažolė” and its organic output.
During the week, we learned a lot about Spain. We had a chance to visit castle of Loarre, which is sited near the France–Spain border. Construction of this fortress was started in XI age and is considered as the oldest fortress of Spain. Since we were living near Zaragoza, we spent a lot of time there and we have visited a lot of beautiful places. Living with Spanish families gave us a chance to get to know countries’ culture not as an outsider, but as a part of the family.
The beauty of the country, nature, locals’ hospitality and smiles left only good memories. We got only good impression of Spain and took fond memories about this country and people to our country – Lithuania.

This trip was very interesting and very constructive , it was great ! it also allowed us to deepen our knowledge bases and our focus. Spain is a beautiful country and the food is very good and varied . Our correspondants were very welcoming and very sociable . We were able to visit the city and these many monuments . But this experience also allowed us to account for the environmentale impact and all the waste we throw away without sorting . trip with Erasmus + is a unique great experience

EVALUATION OF THE LEARNING MOBILITY TO SPAIN– Utebo – 18th to 25th MARCH 2017

    Martinique

    Lithuania

    Germany

    Romania

Better understanding of the topic of the project

Yes, definitely thanks to the conferences on the recycling of olive oil and technologies to produce and store renewable energies, the visits of the glass recycling plant and the biomass factory.

Presentations of the visiting schools by the visiting students

All visiting students got involved in presenting their schools and countries lively through some oral expression exercise.

    Greeting at the host school

Good! The Spanish partner school very warmly and professionally welcomed the visiting delegations who were even introduced to various local officials. They really gave us good ideas on how to welcome people.

    Communication and cooperation

Our students found the Spanish students and all the visiting students particularly welcoming and friendly. That created a good cohesion between the students. The exchange of mascottes between the middle school students was eventually a good idea from the English team.

Presentations of the project’s main activities: interviews by the Lithuanian students.

Filling in the questionnaire about on hydroelectricity and recycling suggested by Italy and Spain

The interviews were produced and presented by the Lithuanian students in an inspiring way. They set a good example for the other students in the project.

However, the questionnaire activity was not fulfilled properly. The Italian team did prepare a questionnaire about hydroelectricity in the different partner countries but the Spanish team didn’t do their about recycling questionnaire. In the end, we don’t know if the questionnaires have been handed out or not and what their results and final analysis are. Should we maintain this activity in the future?

Use the website of the project or the TwinSpace

The project’s website records about 150 visitors each month since its creation in November 2016. It’s a promising figure.

The TwinSpace is a good tool to communicate with the project’s team members and to share documents, especially heavy files like videos. However it hasn’t proved to be efficient for the communication between students who spend their time waiting for answers from their correspondents in vain. It has no mail alert system and its access looks more complicated to students than Whatsapp, social media or regular emails.

Leisure activities (warm up games, sport games, …)

Students really enjoyed the different sightseeing tours in Aragon, the visit of the aquarium, the parties, the international evening, the fun fair. Great moments!!

Study trips, visits of ecofriendly businesses and possible questionnaires to be filled in by the students

They were all so educational and enriching but too many visits were scheduled within the day, which made this experience quite tiring and even unpleasant. We couldn’t keep up with the pace of the programme and keep in mind the gist of all the information that was provided during the visits, which again were so good quality.

    Accommodation

They were very good. All our students came back home with excellent memories of the human warmth they received in the host families. We are very grateful.

    Class attendance

Our students did attend classes that were adapted to their level and could join in them and compare with the classes they have in their home country.

Things to be changed in the next meetings

We wish the programme will be a bit lighter for us to be able to retain better everything we learn during the educational visits.

If we could a bit more free time just to relax or whatever.

EVALUATION OF THE LEARNING MOBILITY TO SPAIN– Utebo – 18th to 25th MARCH 2017

    Spain

    Norway

    England

    Italy

Better understanding of the topic of the project

We learnt a lot about recycling and solar energy, although it was not our field but we thought that being in Spain that was a must related to sustainable development.

Yes, this was a real learning exercise for many aspects, we were really interested in the solar energy presentations and learned a lot about the Stirling Disc, the mechanics of solar energy . The glass recycling plant was also a major source of interest.

Presentations of the visiting schools by the visiting students

It was great, as part of the official welcoming event. The authorities were amazed.

These were great, I think all of the students produced lively and interesting presentations, delivered with knowledge, maturity and wit.

    Greeting at the host school

Our students and collaborators did a great effort for the welcoming festival and European dinner

This was super, I certainly left a part of my heart in Utebo after the warmth of the welcome.

    Communication and cooperation

Everybody was communicating in English, even some teachers and some parents.

    The communication was perfect..

Presentation of the project’s main activities: brochures by the Lithuanian students.

Filling in the questionnaire about on hydroelectricity and recycling suggested by Italy and Spain

It was a model for our interviews.

The questionnaires were in etwinning and nobody filled them. So sorry.

The Lithuanians created a fabulous template easy to follow and to read.

Questionnaires on HEP were simple but deep.

Use the website of the project or the TwinSpace

We uploaded our school and villages presentations in Januray.

    Web site is good

Twin space needs to be pushed a little harder

Leisure activities (warm up games, sport games, …)

Our spanish students suggested the zip-lining although some of the participants missed it and also the Fun fair was great.

    great

Study trips, visits of ecofriendly businesses and possible questionnaires to be filled in by the students

The eco-friendly village was amazingly well organized and an example for all of us.

Every aspect of the week was interesting

    Accommodation

The spanish families were satisfied and I know some of the students are still in contact and are going to visit each other in summer.

Hotel, clean comfortable and cheap, located in a perfect part of Zaragoza

    Class attendance

The students could attend a French lesson, an ICT one, an English lesson, got some information about adm, mechanics and Electronics and played a cultural quiz with prizes.

    Students enjoyed lessons

Things to be changed in the next meetings

Each meeting has a different plan and different characteristics. We will adapt to whatever the leader organizes and we will enjoy a lot.

Here, in Spain, because ‘Recycling’ involves a lot of processes, it was a bit hectic and we missed some more free time to relax.

The week was really good and the Spanish were super hosts, perhaps building in a little more reflective time would have been useful.

** According to Elisa Perez from Spain, the mobility to Newcastle was the best experience ever.
