20. LIPDUB: a new technique to show our traditions

  • 1. DESCRIPTION

Lip dub is considered to be like a small project in which  a few or a lot of people can take part in it.

It is  a video that requires to follow an itinerary and synchronize different elements:

    1) Images

    2) People

    3) Dancing

    4) Music

    5) Movement

    6) Different spaces and timing

    7) Material and resources.

    8) Acrosport pyramids.

    2. METHODOLOGY AND WORKING PROCESS

    ACTIVITIES PRE-RECORDING

    1) We celebrated a meeting to explain the activity in our organization.

-We explain the Erasmus activity to our staff

-We choose a group of teachers to organize the Lip Dub

-We agreed our pupils had to wear costumes in relation to Tales evil characters. We chose the following characters:

    1) Pirates  2) Ogres 3) Queens 4) Bob sponge characters 5) Wolfs 6) Bandoliers 7) Witches 8) Chinese dragons

-We agreed every level would disguise as a different character. Some customes were made by the families at home and some of them were made in the School through Arts and Crafts workshops where the pupils had an active role to create their costumes.

    2) A group of responsible teachers was created to carry out the activity. This group had to:

-Choose the lipdub song ( Carnival song)

-Design an itinerary for our Lip Dub. Every group of pupils was in a place and with a different task with one or two teachers.

-Introduce different proposals to improve our Lip Dub

-Make the recording several times to synchronize the song and the itinerary

-Assign different rooms or sites to every group of pupils and suggest dances, gestures, movements etc to other teachers

    3) Lip Dub rehearsal to look for difficulties and things to improve.

    4) Activities to encourage our families to participate

-Meetings in every level (tutors) to inform and encourage parents to collaborate.

    - Written Communications

    -Specific workshops in our classrooms

    5) We connect our Libdub with:

    - Our local carnival

-Our school parade that it is a tradition in our school and tries to promote our Carnival. Our school community had an active role on this project.

-Our reading project. Because this year has been about evil characters on tales and traditional stories

-Our Erasmus KA 219 Project. This activity was planned for our second year and it contributes to develop different objectives in relation to our project for example.

    a) To know different traditions from other countries.

    b) To develop new methodologies: Multiple intelligences, teamwork

    c) To promote the use of new technologies

    d) To open our organizations to Europe (sharing our video with other countries and disseminating it on our social networks and e-twinning)

    WE CARRY OUT OUR LIPDUB

We developed our LIPDUB just before our traditional parade around our school. We invited all our families. It started at 12.00 in the morning. Afterwards, there was a Carnival parade.

    ACTIVITIES POST-RECORDING

    - We edited our video with MAGIX

-We disseminated our Lip DUB on facebook, youtube, e-twinning etc

-Our pupils watched it in our classrooms.

-We evaluated this activity in our school.
