Christmas in our countries - a scenario.
Every school writes a scene (on a sub-page) then translates it to English and post here, on this page, in proper order.
Suggested order of scenes:
scene I: in France (or in Italy). Decorating the Christmas Tree, decorating house and table/ preparing gifts or dishes
(a French or Italian carol)
scene II: in Poland.
Place: House, dining room / living room
Decorations: a table, chairs, tablecloth and plates, hay (to put under the tablecloth, holly wafer (opłatek)
The guests/ family enter the living room. Mum and grandma bring the dishes. Granddad stands up and takes the holly wafer.
Granddad: This year I Gould like to wish you all the best, good health, happiness. I hope that this Christmas will be special and magical. To make it happen, let’s share the holly wafer.
Everyone takes a piece and starts greeting and wishing Merry Christmas to one another. When they have finished , all the family sit at the table.
Son: When will Santa come? When will we have presents?
Mum: After the first star appears in the sky, darling. Make sure you see it first.
The son approaches (runs towards) the window and stares though it. The daughter tries to make a selfie and listens to the music.
Dad: Well, dad? Who did you vote for? I voted for Duda. That’s the best choice!
Granddad: All those young people, they do not have enough experience…
Mum brings in the soup.
Mum: Please! Don’t you start those arguments again! Let’s not talk about politics at the Christmas Eve table.
Mum puts the soup tureen on the table and takes the headphones off the daughter’s head.
Mum: Please, leave the phone alone at least at the Christmas Eve table. It is time for the family.
The son approaches the table and everybody sits down.

scene V in Romania: how the Christmas Eve in ending
Characters: a family formed by 4 members(parents and 2 children)
Decor: a room decorated for the holiday with the room full of Christmas dishes, the decoreted Christmas tree and a basket full of apples and nuts.
Mather comes with a seat of wheat and she puts it on the table.
Outside you can hear a carol.
Father comes in the house in a hurry.
-Prepare yourselves , the carollers are coming.
The carollers come singing the carol ,, open the door,,
the carrollers: Good evening for Christmas!Are you allowing us to come carolling?
The host- father: Of course, of course we are allowing you.This celebration we happily wanted .
(sing for us the carol)
The host-mother: now come all of you because outside it is rainning .Thank you carollers for coming to our house to sing carols. Now please come and have o set at the table because we want to treat you with a beautiful knot-ring , with nuts and sweet apples because these ones children like.
(Mother offers the knot-ring shoped loof to the carrolless”leader , father treats them with plum brandy and the children offer them apples and nuts)
The romanian carol:we thank our host that he treated us well and next year we will come only if we are healthy.Now keep healthy and happy!
