1. TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS DISHES IN POLAND
In polish tradition we have dish what is called PIEROGI, it's a case of dough filled with a savory filling (as of meat, cheese, or vegetables) and cooked by boiling and then panfrying. They are served at many festivals, playing an important role as a cultural Polish dish.
In Poland we traditionally serve two types of pierogi for Christmas Eve supper. One kind is filled with sauerkraut and dried mushrooms, another – small uszka filled only with dried wild mushrooms – are served in clear borscht.

Carp
Traditional Christmas Fish is carp. We prepare it the day before Christmas, because then will be perfect.
Wafer
Before Christmas Eve, people share wafer and consist of a Christmas greetings.
One of the most popular Christmas baking in Poland is gingerbread. All people loves this cookies. They are made of ginger, cloves, nutmeg or cinnamon and sweetened with honey, sugar or molasses.
In Poland, gingerbreads are known as pierniki . The most famous are called Toruń gingerbread (piernik toruński), a traditional Polish gingerbread that has been produced since the Middle Ages in the city of Toruń. It was a favorite delicacy of Chopin when he visited his godfather, Fryderyk Florian Skarbek, in Toruń during a school vacation.

Christmas Day is a national holiday in Poland and most Poles spend the day feasting with their family. Many households also prepare a great variety of special Christmas dishes, typically numbering 12 in honor of the 12 apostles. Dishes include: fried carp, dumplings, fruit compote, vegetable salad, soup (mushroom, or beetroot with uszks), and makowiec (poppy seed rolled cake).

2. TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS DISHES IN ROMANIA
During Christmas on the 20 th of December , it is St Ignatius (It is the day when Romanian peasants kill their pigs for the Christmas/ winter holidays).The pig which is sacrificed , is the pig grown in the oron yard of the peasant.
Because pork is a traditional Romanian food for Christmas , the housewives prepare dishes for the Christmas table like: white or black pudding , liver pate and sausages.
From pork , The housewiver also prepare it fried and they usually make forcemeat rolled in cabbage or vine leaves or meat-balls. The cabbage con sometimes be pickled. THe cabbage is put in brine.
On the Christmas Eve , the housewives prepare nut, raisins ,turkish delight or poppy pount cakes or pies.They lake there pound cakes in a special oven vith wood for a special flavour.
