    4. Rap

Mirko and DJ Sunny had a workshop where introduced rap and some of its elements. They spoke about rhythms which are important for hip hop and rap. Students and teachers worked together and were divided into three groups. They rotated and at each rotation one bar was written. 6 bars represented one verse. Students wrote based on given key words. At the end we picked the best rap and recorded it.

The best verses were finalized on the Friday's rap workshop and presented on the conclusion event.

We would like to have empathy,

    And respect diversity

    So what. We must

    work on the trust

    we have friendship to defend

    and become a friend.

    Every country has minority

but we must respect it like majority.

For good relations important is respect

and bad ones you can reject.

    If everybody has their rights

    than nobody would fight!

No war in the streets, we need peace,

good deeds and hearts will increase.

    Look around:  it's globalization,

stop this now and make relations.

Let's work together for no hate,

    Open your heart and activate.

During the mobility in Slovenia in May 2017 many objectives of the project were achieved.

The students and teachers from six countries learnt some facts about minorities and communities: We had the opportunity to understand and accept diversities through direct contact with children of diverse national origin, by meeting members of the Roma community, an ethnic minority in Prekmurje in Slovenia, where we visited the school and by visiting Second Home, which is a part of Social Centre Rog in Ljubljana, where we listened to the stories of immigrants and had learnt how immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers and local activists work and learn together for a better integration in society.  We had the opportunity to learn some facts about the Jewish community in Prekmurje by visiting the museum, synagogue and by visiting the Jewish Cultural Centre in Ljubljana. Besides, the teachers experienced a wonderful evening with a special and delicious dinner in the restaurant employing several people with special needs, where we also learnt more about Slovenian policies on special education, and children and adults with special needs.

Before the mobility some students gained some knowledge about the debate topic regarding refugees and learned about the debate technique. During the mobility the students accepted the rules of civilized behaviour, including acceptance of diverse opinion, while debating or listening the debate on the theme Immigrant children can be successfully integrated in our schools.

Students improved basic language skills in foreign language by debating, speaking, writing rap songs, socializing with teachers and peers, introducing their favourite activities, their country and culture, attending different types of lessons (e.g. Odissey), inquiring, understanding speeches and texts and many more.

Teachers exchanged good practices. Students presented the most successful activity of the year to the teachers. Teachers attended classes, workshops, and organized discussion on discrimination and peer abuse, based on the survey results in our schools, and exchanged experience regarding discrimination and its elimination. Besides, they got acquainted with the practice of inclusion of the children with special needs in our education and school.

Teachers enjoyed and experienced different teaching approaches and methods, such as Jigsaw teaching technique (rap workshop), some of them performed co-teaching (joint lessons) - (rap workshop, family project work), IBL - Inquiry-based learning (practiced in some classes in our school (and developed in another Erasmus+ project Yema - Young Europeans on the Move by Active Teaching). The students and some teachers participated in the lesson led by a Greek teacher. The lesson was about Odysseus and Cyclops or How to handle bullying, where among others memorizing, drama technique and creative writing were used.

The students and teachers also learnt basic rules for writing and performing the rap songs as a cooperative activity and understanding the meaning of the key words.

Students developed social skills, empathy, self-confidence through different activities, such as socializing with peers and teachers, different workshops and activities (social-sport games, logo and slogan, dancing, rap, an old town tour in Ljubljana, and excursion to Prekmurje, planting a tree of friendship, painting the mural etc.)

Our visitors became acquainted with cultural and natural heritage of some parts of Slovenia by getting to know the school and its surroundings, visiting Prekmurje, Postojna cave, Ljubljana centre, especially by living with the host families and sharing their experiences with the families, peers and teachers.
