PROJECT ACTIVITIES

  • LIST OF ACTIVTIES

     

    A1 Reading and analyzing articles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child shall be performed during class meetings in all class divisions. Afterwards the pupils shall design and conduct a survey by using digital applications following the subject-theme children's rights. During art lessons pupils shall paint an image following the theme children's rights.

     

    A2 Honouring the International Child Rights Day on 20 November pupils

    a) shall express their ideas and visions of what the world should be like in written to the adults,

    b) shall design a brochure on children's rights (in paper and digital form),

    c) shall present  to the partner schools their visions via video conference.

     

    A3 All partner schools shall conduct a survey or a questionnaire on discrimination types in their schools. That activity shall be performed upon parents and principals' approval. The survey shall be designed by defectologist, pedagogue and external specialists, and shall be executed during class meetings. Depending on the results, workshops under the leadership of special education staff, aiming at eliminating the misbehaviour, shall be organized.

     

    A4 Painting and decorating the chill-out-lounge. This activity means involvement of pupils, art teacher, parents and vocational school students (Split School of Fine Arts). The objective of this activity is to build creativity, team work and cross-sector cooperation.

    A5 Introducing musical school bell.The sounds replacing the school bell shall be recorded and prepared by the pupils with teacher's assistance taking into consideration legal element of the copyright.

    A6 Researching types of discrimination through history of Split and comparison of such with the Constitution. A cooperation with a non-profit organization, active in the subject-matter field of discrimination, shall be established. A debate shall be organized led by history teacher and pedagogue.

     

    A7 Pupils of all partner schools shall make a movie on types of discrimination happening among children, based on the survey results. Essential role in this activity would be of the Croatian teacher (native language teacher) teaching pupils basic terms and facts about filmmaking as a part of lecture on media. Pupils will write a screenplay, process casting, shoot scenes, and upload the movie

    by using, for example Windows Movie Maker with ICT teacher assisting. These movies will be played on eTwinning and YouTube.

     

    A8 Reading a national literary work on discrimination led by Croatian teacher followed by writing an essay in English and reading such via Skype.

     

    A9 Each partner school shall introduce and present two national minorities from the local level and present research results through an essay in digital environment, but also in oral presentation via videoconference to other partners. OŠ Manuš shall research and present history of Jewish and Macedonian community emphasizing their contribution to the local community.

     

    A10 On 18 October, Day of the Tie (Kravata Day) shall be honoured as a symbol of politeness, civilized behaviour. Since the tie is a Croatian invention (the word “kravata” originates from the word “Croat”) and a Croatian national symbol, we intend to present the tie on an international level as one of the symbols of Croatia.

     

    A11 Human Rights Day shall be honoured by executing analyses of the General Declaration on Human Rights and designing UNICEF cards.

     

    A12 On 27 January, honouring the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, pupils shall visit the synagogue and Jewish cemetery on Marjan.

     

    A13 On 07 February, Internet Safety Day, a workshop shall be organised, emphasizing internet pros and cons.

    A14 Performance of a rap song inspired by the leitmotivs discrimination/human/children's rights. This activity engages partner schools' cooperation, i.e. pupils from each school shall perform one part of the song and the whole work of art shall be blended.

     

    A15 Creating logo and project slogan! Organize the Best Slogan and Logo Award on digital platform. Art teacher, English and Croatian teacher shall conduct this activity.

     

    A16 Debate. All partner schools shall organise debates with subject-theme migration crisis and European countries attitude (or countries of their origin) towards the migrants.

     

    A17 Organisation of the eTwinning space where teachers can present/exchange/comment on well preformed lessons.

     

    A18 Preparation and food tasting of the national minorities and migrants’ cuisine, e.g. Syrian cuisine. Since our school facility contains a kitchen, in cooperation with Split Tourism and Catering School, we will prepare and taste national minorities and migrants’ dishes, and thus enjoy a small insight in their culture, way of living and traditions. There would also be a lecture on specific ingredients they use, completely new to us. The lecture would be held by the students/teachers of this vocational school.
