Global skills, key skills, transversal skills: so many labels to refer to something very important, bu t so difficult to grasp! 

Global skills are tools, used to learn whatever subject or professional ability we need in our life, they help us communicate with others and create ideas and contents.

They are the backbone of education: you don't see them in plain sight, but they are there and support all the knowledge and know-how we acquire during our life.

Global skills are life-long instruments: learn them at school and use them to learn a job or to find a new hobby, they are our key-code to interpret and adapt to the world.

Many educational boards have tried to map global skills, to reduce them to a number or a finished list, but, as the human brain is so complex and articulated, the istruments it uses cannot be simple and limited.
