    KEY STAGE FIVE: PROJECT PLAN

    MAPPING OUR ETWINNING JOURNEY

What we will learn and experience:

    • Pupils will connect with pupils from another European country to enhance their language learning.
    • Pupils will learn by collaborating with pupils of the same age to study the following topic areas: Media, Popular Culture, Healthy Living/ Lifestyle and Family/Relationships.
    • Pupils will research the above topic areas and will produce work with the project partners on the topic areas.
    • Modern Foreign Languages: Pupils will understand and respond: in speech to spoken language including face-to-face interaction; in writing to spoken language drawn from a variety of sources.
    • Pupils will show knowledge and understanding of, and respond critically to, different aspects of the culture and society of countries/communities where the language is spoken.

    HOW WE WILL ACHIEVE THIS

    Setting the scene:

    1. Each school will use the eTwinning Journey’s resource to identify where the partner schools are.  Pupils will use atlases to help them to identify where each county is and pinpoint them on the map.
    2. Pupils will develop questions to ask their project partners in order to complete a report in the target language or target geographical enquiry.
    3. Passport: Each school will complete the passport for their own school ready to post.  This will be completed by each pupil.
    4. Passports will then be posted to partner schools.
    5. Pupils will also complete a digital copy of information about their school.  Pupils will complete it in both English and the language of their partner school.
    6. Schools will embed a map of Europe on thinglink https://www.thinglink.com (see instructions for how to make the thing link for your project) to pinpoint their own school and provide some information.

    Getting to know each other

    1. Pupils will answer the questions in the google form that has been embedded in the twinspace (see instructions).
    2. Once all schools have completed this, the results can be used to produce written work based on the findings.
    3. Homework Challenge:  Share with pupils the homework challenges.  Create a display showing the completed work.  Photograph and share in the twinspace.  If any work has been created digitally share this in the correct section in the twinspace.
    4. Pupils will be given the homework tasks and be asked to complete them over half a term.  The completed tasks will be shared on the page for that task.  Ensure that pupils extend and develop the tasks.  Make sure pupils are developing their modern foreign language skills. Ensure that the homework tasks are completed in the modern foreign language the pupils are learning.

    Evaluation

    1. Pupils will complete a project evaluation form to self assess what they have learnt.  This evaluation could be completed using a google form or using padlet. (see padlet instructions for more information)
    2. Teachers will assess pupils academic progress against the targets set.  Progress trackers are in the resources section for pupils to complete if needed.
