    KEY STAGE THREE: PROJECT PLAN

    MAPPING OUR ETWINNING JOURNEY

What pupils will learn and experience:

    • To develop knowledge and skills in writing, using correct grammar, punctuation and spelling.

    • To confidently read and respond to a range of texts linked to the project.

    • To have a sound knowledge of governance, the role of law and the justice system.

    • To build on our knowledge of globes, maps and atlases and apply and develop this knowledge routinely in the classroom and in the field.

    • To use fieldwork in contrasting locations to collect, analyse and draw conclusions from geographical data, using multiple sources of increasingly complex information.

    • To listen to a variety of forms of spoken language to obtain information and respond appropriately.

    • To transcribe words and short sentences that they hear with increasing accuracy.

    • To initiate and develop conversations, coping with unfamiliar language and unexpected responses, making use of important social conventions such as formal modes of address.

    • To express and develop ideas clearly and with increasing accuracy, both orally and in writing

    • To speak coherently and confidently, with increasingly accurate pronunciation and intonation

    HOW WILL THEY ACHIEVE THIS?

    Setting the scene:

    1. Each school will use the eTwinning Journey’s resource to identify where the partner schools are.  Pupils will use atlases to help them to identify where each county is and pinpoint them on the map.
    2. Use maps and atlases to collect information on each country.  This information will then be used to make detailed reports on the countries involved in the project.
    3. Schools will use the image of the map of Europe.  They will place it in thinglink https://www.thinglink.com to pinpoint their own school and provide some information (see instructions for using thinglink).
    4. They will embed this into the twinspace for the partner school to share and add to.
    5. Each school will complete the passport for their own school ready to post.  Pupils will complete the passports in both English and then complete it in the language of their partner school.
    6. Passports will then be posted to partner schools.
    7. Pupils will also complete a digital copy of information about their school.

    Getting to know each other:

    1. Pupils will answer the questions in the google form that is embedded in the twinspace (see instructions on how to create and embed a google form).
    2. Once all schools have completed this, the results can be used to produce written work based on the findings.

Homework Challenge:  Share with pupils the 20 homework challenges.

    1. Pupils will be given the homework tasks and be asked to complete them over half a term.
    2. The completed tasks will be shared on the page for that task.  Ensure that pupils extend and develop the tasks.
    3. Make sure pupils are developing their modern foreign language skills and extending their geographical knowledge.

    Evaluation

    1. Pupils will complete a project evaluation form to self assess what they have learnt.  This evaluation could be completed using a google form or using padlet. (see padlet instructions for more information)
    2. Teachers will assess pupils academic progress against the targets set.  Progress trackers are in the resources section for teachers to complete if needed.
