    Key Stage One: PROJECT PLAN

    MAPPING OUR ETWINNING JOURNEY

    What pupils will learn:

    • To speak audibly and fluently.
    • Pupils will participate in discussions, presentations and performances.
    • To develop reading and writing skills, composing sentences, developing ideas and using correct pronunciation.
    • To be able to name, locate and identify characteristics of the four countries and capital cities of the United Kingdom.
    • To use world maps, atlases and globes to identify the United Kingdom and its countries, as well as the countries, continents and ocean.

    HOW WE WILL ACHIEVE THIS

    Setting the scene:

    1. Each school will use the eTwinning Journey’s resource to identify where the partner schools are.
    2. Pupils will use atlases to help them to identify where each county is and pinpoint them on the map.

Each school will complete the passport for their own school ready to post.  This will be done as a whole class working together, although, some children may be able to complete their own individual passports.  Passports will then be posted to partner schools.  Pupils will also complete a digital copy of information about their school.

    Getting to know each other:

Pupils will complete a piece of work to share with the partner school, introducing their school and local area.  This will be completed using either web tools such as story jumper, windows movie maker or apps such as book creator, adobe spark video, shadow puppet edu or iMovie.  These will then be shared on the twinspace.

Homework Challenge:  Share with pupils the 20 homework challenges.

Children have two challenges per week.  Ask parents to email photos etc to a school email address so that the homework can be shared in the twinspace.  A page will be created in the twinspace for each task.  Pupils from the partner schools will also complete the activities and share on the twinspace.

The homework tasks and map will make a display/ working wall in the classroom to share with others the progress in pupils learning.  As the displays develop, photos will be sent to the partner school.

    Evaluation

Teachers will assess pupil progress against the objectives outlined above.  Progress will be measured from the baseline completed at the beginning g of the project.

Pupils will share what they have learnt by completing a self evaluation.

Using padlet pupils from all schools will answer questions about what they have enjoyed most etc…
