    KEY STAGE TWO: PROJECT PLAN

    MAPPING OUR ETWINNING JOURNEY

Throughout this project pupils will learn:

    • To read with understanding.  Pupils will prepare poems to read aloud and perform.  Pupils will plan, draft, edit and evaluate their writing.
    • Geography: To name and locate counties and cities of the United Kingdom, geographical regions and their identifying human and physical characteristics.  Pupils will understand geographical similarities and differences through the study of human and physical geography of a region of the United Kingdom, a region in a European country, and a region within North or South America
    • Modern Foreign Languages: Pupils will listen attentively to spoken language and show understanding by joining in and responding.
    • Pupils will explore the patterns and sounds of language through songs and rhymes and link the spelling, sound and meaning of words.
    • Pupils will engage in conversations; ask and answer questions; express opinions and respond to those of others; seek clarification and help.
    • Pupils will speak in sentences, using familiar vocabulary, phrases and basic language structures.
    • Pupils develop accurate pronunciation and intonation so that others understand when they are reading aloud or using familiar words and phrases.
    • Pupils can present ideas and information orally to a range of audiences.
    • Pupils broaden their vocabulary and develop their ability to understand new words that are introduced into familiar written material, including through using a dictionary.
    • Pupils write phrases from memory, and adapt these to create new sentences, to express ideas clearly.
    • Pupils describe people, places, things and actions orally and in writing.

HOW WE WILL WORK TO ACHIEVE THIS

    Setting the scene:

    1. Each school will use the eTwinning Journey’s resource to identify where the partner schools are.  Pupils will use atlases to help them to identify where each county is and pinpoint them on the map.
    2. Pupils will find out more information about their partner country and complete a fact file on the country.
    3. Schools will use the picture of the map of Europe on thinglink https://www.thinglink.com to pinpoint their own school and provide some information (see help guide to using thinglink).
    4. Each school will complete the passport for their own school ready to post.  Pupils will put some information in both english and the language of their partner school.  Pupils will also complete a digital copy of information about their school.

    Getting to know each other:

    1. Pupils will answer the questions in the google form that is embedded in the twinspace.
    2. Once all schools have completed this, the results can be used to produce written work based on the findings.
    3. Pupils will present some information to their partner school about their own school.  This will be done through oral presentation using either web based tools such as story jumper, windows movie maker or apps such as book creator, adobe spark video, shadow puppet edu or iMovie.
    4. These will then be shared on the twinspace.
    5. Pupils will be given the homework tasks and be asked to complete them over half a term.
    6. The completed tasks will be shared on the page for that task. (Homework tasks can be shared on padlet, and embedded in the correct space in the twinspace).
    7. Ensure that pupils extend and develop the tasks.  Make sure pupils are developing their modern foreign language skills and extending their geographical knowledge.
    8. Teachers make a display in the classroom of the homework tasks and share photos on the twinspace.  Upload pupils work to the twinspace.

    Evaluation

    1. Teachers measure pupils progress against the baseline and objectives set above.
    2. Children complete self evaluation tasks on the twinspace using either google forms or padlet embedded in the twinspace.
