G2 - Body mass and gravity force

  • Hello, we are Guillem Segura, Alba Roca and Paula Forcadell. (from right to left)

Our group have made an experiment which consists in measure the force of different objects and also their weights. The conclusion of the experiment is "knowing" the gravity acceleration using the information that we obtained from the experiment. How can we know it? We will use the formula which says that the F=m*g    -->    g=F/m.

From the results we have obtained we did an average. Obviously, as we are doing the experiment in the reality, the result of the gravity acceleration won't be 9,81 as we know. There could be an error range, which we are going to calculate too.

    MATERIALS WE USED

    - Electronic scales

    - Dynamometer

    - Force sensor

    - Different objects

    - Computer

    PROCEDURE

In the experiment, for knowing the weight of the objects we use electrolic scales. We chose the one with more decimals. We mesure the weight and then, for measure the force we used two ways: with a dynamometer and with a force sensor. When we use the force sensor we saw that the results were not really good, so we use the dynamometer. After all, we pass the results in an Excel and we calculate the gravity acceleration of each object introducing the formula on it. Finally, we calculate the average.
