    Tancat de la Pipa

L'Albufera is a natural park just 10 Km from Valencia. It's main attraction is the large freshwater lagoon spanning more than 2,800 hectares, the largest in Spain. It provides shelter for up to 300 different species of birds throughout the year, especially the waterfowl that winter there. In fact, L’Albufera has been designated as a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance, and since 1994, as a Special Protection Area (ZEPA).

El Tancat de la Pipa is a biodiversity reserve area within the Albufera Natural Park. It’s the result of an ecological restoration process: 40 hectares of rice fields were transformed into a set of freshwater habitats that function as a biodiversity reserve thanks to the process of improving water quality that takes place in their green filters and lagoons.
