LECTURE ON BIODIVERSITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
On 7th October, Portuguese 11th and 12th graders were given the opportunity to attend a 90-minute lecture on environmental sustainability and biodiversity. The lecture, whose main aim was to raise students’ awareness of the pressing environmental challenges our planet faces nowadays, was led by Susana Fonseca, a member of a Portuguese NGO called ZERO.
Bearing in mind recent international studies, a wide range of topics within environmental issues and sustainable living were dealt with, namely the world’s ecological footprint, the use of natural resources, food loss and waste, climate change, the UN Sustainable Development goals for 2030, among others.
