Hello, we are the Polish team

  • Spoleczna Szkola Podstawowa is a primary school in Zabrze in the south of Poland. We have about 150 students (aged 6-15) who commute from 4 neighbouring cities and who come from various social and economic backgrounds. The staff consists of about 40 teachers and technical workers.

Teaching languages and doing sports are very important in our school. We have a football field,  a running track and a beach volleyball field on our premises. Every year we organise various English and German exchanges, language camps to the British Isles and out-of-school workshops related to learning languages and getting to know other cultures and sharing information about Polish customs, traditions and history.

Our school has been active in projects on cultural heritage. Since 2018 we have been working on the project “Let me be your guide, a walk-through of my cultural heritage”. In 2019 we also started an eTwinning project on Cultural Heritage which was a motivation to develop some of the issues and go deeper into the topic in question. Participation in the project helped students understand the diversity of their own culture but also get to know and become interested in other cultures.
