Calendar and phases

  • Project phases:

Although the project was only planned to last until December, due to the sucess of the project among the students and also to accomodate all their needs and changes due to lockdowns and other restrictions, the project had the following phases:

    Calendar

    - August - planning meetings with teachers and project application submission.

    - September - preparation and logistics; setting up the Twinspace; presentation to the schools.

    - October - "Get to know each other" - The project was presented to the students by each teacher using a Kahoot about the topic and the initial evaluation form wass filled. The students were joined in mixed country groups and briefly presented themselves in a Padlet. They also answered there to their buddies presentation. Each class prepared some materials about their country and school for the TwinSpace.

    - November - 1st Meeting: "Playing and creating together" - All the students joined a meeting online, live, and play games together, in small groups. After the meeting, students were challenged to use their creativity to create a project logo.

    - December - The classes recorded Holiday greetings to each other which were shared by the teachers privately and shown in class, for eSafety reasons, using this as a celebratory moment.

    - December and January - "Learning about UNESCO heritage" - Each student  researched about one UNESCO monument or tradition of their home or current country and produce a poster using an ITC platform which was shared here on the TwinSpace.

    - February to April - "Discovering my personal heritage" - Each student gathered and organized info about one piece of cultural heritage of their own country or family and/or created a 1-2 minute video about one using ITC platforms. Because food is an important part of the culture of all the participating countries, this was the topic chosen for the activity.

    - March - 2nd Meeting - "Sharing our culture" - At this meeting, the students were separated in breakout rooms where they had to answer a scored Quizziz about the posters they had created, which they could consult on the Twinspace. The goal was to allow them to get to know the different sites and intangible UNESCO heritage explored, as well as to give them room to discuss their current personal heritage projects.
