Curricular integration and innovative approaches

  • eTwinning has been included into the school policy as opportunity, in terms of innovative and digital approaches, of European school development. This eTwinning project has been integrated into the school curriculum and involved different subjects. This multidisciplinary approach is reflected in the project contents (connected with the climate change topic), objectives in general and activities. Science, History, Geography, Maths, Italian, Spanish, English, Art, ICT designed a huge and significant number of activities to let participants know more and in a critical way about climate change.

How? At the beginning of the school year the class teachers planned a so called Unità di apprendimento (UDA), that is a "Learning Unit" about climate change, sharing aims, objectices, activities, assessment forms (prove di valutazione unitarie e compito autentico).

Anyway, the language curriculum benefited from the project because of the content coincidence (e.g. weather, introduction, people and object description), and the implementation of reading and writing skills, for ex..

    The strike of the sea

Following one of the themes proposed for the 2019 edition of "Libriamoci", "We will save the Planet", the third, fourth and fifth grades of the Noè Lucidi primary school have produced a dramatization of the text "The strike of the sea" by the local writer Antonio D'Amore. With the interaction between teachers, music teacher and scenography experts, pupils have created an ecological interpretation of the text. The event took place through the streets of the town, culminating in a suggestive setting in the central square, with the participation of the author and the Mayor.
