Last year the class 4A PCU Culinary Art course at IIS Sraffa took part to two eTwinning projects SOS with STEM https://twinspace.etwinning.net/80997
and Be the Change Take the Challenge
https://twinspace.etwinning.net/80997
whose aim was to raise awareness about the situation of our Planet, how global warming is threatening our survival and the need to start taking action to fight climate change.
The students were ready to continue their action in the current year and to involve their mates in the project. Following the example of the Tunisian and Jordan schools they had planned to plant trees in a public area around the school and got the permission to start in March during a Festival that is dedicated to trees (it is actually called La Festa dell'Albero in Italian) in our city every year.
They also had to participate to activities organised to keep the school yard free from garbage. The name of the project was Puliamo lo Sraffa (Let's clean Sraffa) and all classes of the school had to take turns during the second term starting from February 27th.
Unfortunately both activities couldn't be carried out this school year but they will hopefully be implemented as soon as possible.
