    Here is a learning scenario of the project activities. It is a draft that we can improve with your suggestions and mostly find a convergence of the activities and the  disciplines we teach.

       In the following document we share: 

    (a) the aims of the project, (b) its objectives and (c) the topics we covered  in relation to the Tunisian English language curriculum

     

    Both as a means of communication and a subject of study, English is used as a means to collect information, process data and use communication  technology, be it at the individual or cooperative modes through efficient working procedures. The diagram below shows how the targeted skills and strategies interrelate

    Objectives and Key Competences ( in French):

    • Acquérir des compétences pour développer la capacité de raisonnement et la pensée logique, pour se familiariser avec les étapes de résolution d’un problème, pour élaborer des solutions sous forme d’algorithmes, pour exploiter des environnements de programmation
    • développer chez l'apprenant un ensemble de valeurs universelles et humanistes relatives au contexte de la citoyenneté
    • Favoriser le développement de la communication et de la collaboration, de la pensée critique, de la créativité, de l’innovation et de la résolution des problèmes
    • Viser l’acquisition de savoirs, de savoirs faire et de savoirs être pour la conception et la production de solutions numériques.
    • Développer chez l'apprenant l’esprit critique et les facultés d'initiative, de créativité et d’innovation pour un apprentissage tout au long de la vie.

     I teach English, therefore oral and written communication are competencies that can be developed through such projects, as well as CLIL topics.Some of the competences in the Romanian curriculum for English are: 

    Specific competences

    Identifying the global meaning of a message

    Identifying key information in authentic texts

    Recognizing the logical organization of a text

    Selecting information from

    various texts to accomplish a structured task

    Synthesizing information in a written text under the form of diagrams or notes

    Composing simple functional texts

    Filling in forms

    Oral or written reports on the activity of a group or individual project

    Expressing ideas and opinions on various topics in a discussion or as answer messages

     

    And here are the values and attitudes that define English language teaching in the Romanian curriculum:

    Values and attitudes

    • Showing flexibility during teamwork and idea exchange in various communication situations
    • Increasing awareness as concerns the role English plays as a means of access to the international labor market and to universal cultural heritage
    • Availability to accept differences and show tolerance through the critical approach to cultural differences and stereotypes
    • Developing interest in discovering specific cultural aspects through the reception of a variety of texts in English and through a correlation with the civilization of the Anglo-Saxon cultural space

     

     

          Assessment Plans and Strategies       

     

      Assessment will encompass not only outcomes, but also   processes, progress achieved and efficiency of the procedures followed in both individual and collaborative modes. 

     The best way to do this is through ongoing formative assessment of teachers, peers and self-assessment. As for the strategies, teachers observations, surveys /questionnaires, reports will be used.
