Arboriculture is a vital industry involved with the planting, care and maintenance of trees in woodlands, rural and urban areas. It is closely linked to forestry, which is the science and practice of managing forests and woodlands. There are career opportunities in landscape, habitat and species management, countryside recreation, planning and parks and even climate change. Opportunities exist in a range of organisations from government departments to local authorities, charities and the voluntary sector.

    The European Arboricultural Council
    (EAC)...
...is a forum where delegates from various arboricultural organizations throughout Europe meet with the object of elevating the status and advancing
the profession by liaising on matters ranging from research and education to successful tree establishment and improvement of working practices.

This will lead to healthier and longer living trees in towns, parks, gardens, or where trees are grown to beautify Europe.

    Humans for Nature
In Kopački rit, Croatia, there is an over 450-year-old common Elm. It was listed in the Ramsar area in 1993 and as a protected
area by Natura 2000. Its vitality is good, but there are some rotted branches and deadwood which will necessitate pruning
if we want to safeguard this tree for years to come.

Arboriculture is the cultivation, management, and study of individual trees, shrubs, vines, and other perennial woody plants. The science of arboriculture studies how these plants grow and respond to cultural practices and to their environment. The practice of arboriculture includes cultural techniques such as selection, planting, training, fertilization, pest and pathogen control, pruning, shaping, and removal.
