Olive Tree in İskenderun

This Olive Tree is one of the symbols of our city.It is registered as one of the monumental trees by the Foudation for the Protection of Cultural and National Assets in 1976.

As a result of the examiation done by  the Head of the Department of Botany of  Faculty of the Science and Letters in  Çukurova University-Professor  Atabay Düzenli, the tree is determined to be 1350 years old.What is more ,the tree is known as the oldest tree which still gives product.It has given 300 kilograms of olive recently.
