Catalan language workshop

  • CATALAN LANGUAGE WORKSHOP

On the first day of our mobility guest students enjoyed a Catalan class taught by Gemma, one of the Catalan teachers in the project.

Catalan is a Romance language evolving from Latin. It is spoken by 4.1 million people in Catalonia, Andorra, the Balearic Islands and Valencia. It is also spoken  in the Alghero, in the eastern strip of Aragon, in some villages of Murcia and in the Pyrénées-Orientales, department of France.

Students learnt a few basics of Catalan and also sang the Barça anthem. FC Barcelona is one of the most important football clubs in Spain.

We also sang together Sense tu (Without you), the original soundtrack of the Red Band Society.  The series is about a group of teenagers living together as cancer patients in a hospital.

Our students love the song sung by Teràpia de Shock and asked Gemma to show it to our guest students.
