The city: Pozega is a small town in western Serbia. It is located in the Zlatibor District, and it′s surrounded by many villages. The village of Loret is the most famous one. The Skrapez River flows through Pozega. The town has a population of about 13.000 . Belgrade, the capital city of Serbia, isn′t far away from Pozega . Our town has one of the most beautiful squares in Serbia. The geographical position is very good . Many famous persons from the areas of sport and science were born in the territory of Pozega. The film festival- Interaction has been held in Pozega for many years, and it gathers students from all around the world. Music, culture, and education are very important in this town... The first school in Pozega was built in 1911.

The School: Petar Lekovic Elementary school was built on September 15, 1960. It was named after a hero from World War 2, Petar Lekovic. It is consisted of two buildings.An older and smaller school, designed for children from 7 up to 10 years old, and a new, bigger school, that is designed for students from 11 up to 15 years old. English is taught from the first grade. The second foreign language is obtained in the fifth grade. There are currently four languages avaliable: French, Italian, Spanish and German. The European Day of Languages is marked by students and teachers every year. Our school′s park has the tittle of the largest park in Serbia. It is one of the most beautiful in our country as well. A wide variety of roses, plants, trees, birds make it special and different from others.The school gardener and our biological section take care of the school park. Except biological section, drama section, music section and sport section are avaliable as well. Our school has sixteen cabinets, gym and school atrium. Our language,the Serbian language belongs to the south Slavic languages. Our letter is Cyrillic. We write as we speak, we read as it is written. It is easy to agree with our neighbours like: Macedonians, Croatians, Montenegrins, Slovenes, Bosnians because they are pretty similar. Our language is pretty similar to Russian.
