The Earth monitoring missions are designed to improve our understanding of Earth. They use cutting-edge space technologies to learn more about the interactions between the atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, cryosphere and Earth’s interior.
Climate Detectives is an ESA school project for students who are challenged to ‘make a difference’ in understanding and protecting Earth’s climate.
Our submission to the Climate Detectives 2019-2020 about coastal erosion was successful.
You can find some inspiration in Luca's climate message or have a look how ESA experts are studying climate change with satellite data.
As a starting point you can also explore the differences between weather and climate with Dr Natalie Douglas, a climate scientist that supported last year's edition of Climate Detectives or also on Moodle page.
Then learn how you can use the images from satellite.
You could use Google Earth or Sentinel Hub.
