During the month of September we are going to learn how a Documentary is done.

We have prepared this powerpoint where you will find some scriptwriting notions, filming advices and useful tools:

Exercise 1

What is a documentary film? What are the main characteristics of the documentary?

Work in groups of 4 people (you can continue working with your mates from las trimester or make new groups) and look for information about what a documentary is and its main characteristics.

To communicate between groups you can use Hangouts

To work use GoogleDocs (Drive).

Send an email to ivanalbacete@insvacarisses.cat and evacorrales@insvacarisses.cat to inform about the group team members.When you finish share the GoogleDoc document with your teachers.

Exercise 2

You have to find some interesting news about environment, they can be national or international. 

You have to become journalists. Imagine that you are "live" in the place where the news are happening and explain the news to the audience.

For example: 

Luxembourg Makes Public Transportation Free

You have to pretend they are in the middle of the city. 

You explain the news to the audience (short news, between 30 seconds and 1 minute)

You will have to answer to these questions:

Where?, What? How? and Why?

Before you start filming please get ready: Divide the task among the members of the group. Find sounds or music that are good for your news.

Another example:

Warm Period Causes Unusual Antarctic Melting

Now, students have to pretend they are in the Antarctic. 

They explain the news to the audience (short news, between 30 seconds and 1 minute)

They will have to answer to these questions:

Where?, What? How? and Why?

Before you start filming please get ready: Divide the task among the members of the group. Find sounds or music that are good for your news.

As we have a Chroma Key at the school, we will try to regsiter students using the Chroma.

You have to find some real images (images from where your news take place)

Chroma will allow us to pretend that we are in the news scene.
