Linguistic field
Before going to Greece, the students worked on Linguistic issues:
- They created digital presentations studying their mother languages (Romanian, Greek, Czech, Catalan) and English. They also related Latin and old Greek words with their languages and they described their meaning. The presentations detail contents like the number of speakers, the territory spoken or the language development of each language.
- Students recorded videos reading the myth of Europe in English and their national language. One more video was about basic expressions in English and their own language.
The students were mixed in internationals teams in order to do some activities in Volos during the week between the 6th and 10th of may in 2019:
- Students presented the information about Linguistic issues and development of languages in Powerpoint presentations orally in national teams in English.
- Students created 5 concept maps per team in mixed international teams using CMap Tools and later presenting the results in English.
- Students created a poster per team in Canva online programme from educational visits to Athens and Meteora with information obtained from the guides during the visit in mixed international teams using an online programme and later presenting the results in English.
- Students took part in a seminar on the Greek alphabet led by Greek students, learning pronunciation, reading and writing of Greek words.
- Students and teachers took part in an educational visit to Acropolis and Acropolis museum in Athens with a guided tour in English, to Meteora 3D visitors centre watching three short films about creation of the Meteora region and the history of monasteries and educational visit to the monastery of St. Stephen with a guided tour in English. During the visits they completed tasks in mixed international teams for the future project work.
