    Portuguese social activist leaders: António Guterres & Maria Barroso.

    António Guterres became the Secretary-General of the United Nations on January 1st, 2017. Recently, he appealed to all leaders and everyone worldwide that there is no time to lose in the face of climate change.
    Maria Barroso was involved in numerous activities aimed at supporting the areas of culture, education and family, childhood, social solidarity, female dimension, health, the integration of the disabled and the prevention of violence.

    Polish human rights activist

    Adam Kutryba is our school graduate and a social activist. He started a yearly letter writing marathon in our school organised by Amnesty International and aimed at defending those whose basic human rights are being attacked.

    Romanian social activist - Queen Helen

    Helen of Greece and Denmark (2 May 1896 – 28 November 1982), was the queen mother of Romania during the reign of her son King Michael (1940–1947). She was noted for her humanitarian efforts to save Romanian Jews during World War II, which led to her being awarded by the State of Israel with the honorific of Righteous Among the Nations in 1993.

    Traian Popovici (October 17, 1892 – June 4, 1946) was a Romanian lawyer and mayor of Cernăuţi during World War II, known for saving 20,000 Jews of Bukovina from deportation.

    Greta Thunberg (born 3 January 2003) is a Swedish environmental activist on climate change whose campaigning has gained international recognition. Thunberg is known for her straightforward speaking manner, both in public and to political leaders and assemblies, in which she urges immediate action to address the climate crisis.

    Jerzy Owsiak is a Polish journalist and social campaigner. He is a founder of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP / Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy), one of the largest non-governmental, non-profit, charity organizations in Poland.
