Collaboration with AFANOC (Association of Families of kids with cancer in Catalonia) in Halloween
Halloween. In Catalonia, the Eve of 1st November is the "Chestnut Day" (La Castanyada), where people eat cooked chestnuts and typical sweets (panellets). Students prepared and sold cooked chestnuts to earn money for AFANOC.
Food collection with Banc dels Aliments (Food Bank)
The students of Institut Joan Solà have participated in the Collection for the Food Bank (Banc dels aliments) from November 30th to December 1st.
During these two days, they have collaborated collecting various food products such as oil, vegetables, flour, milk or canned foods in the supermarkets of the towns of Torrefarrera and Alguaire, which will be distributed among people without resources.
Collaboration with La Marató de TV3 (collecting funds for medical research, a TV Channel initiative)
On December 15th, students of the institute Joan Solà collaborated as volunteers in the solidarity lunch held in the town of Rosselló in order to raise funds to be donated to La Fundació La Marató de TV3, a solidarity project focused on obtaining economic resources for medical research. This year was devoted to the investigation of new methods of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer .

2019 Collaboration with AFANOC (Association of Families of kids with cancer in Catalonia) "Put on the cap"
During the week from 4th to 8th February 2019, a group of 3rd grade students from our institute has undertaken a new solidarity action. This initiative consisted in the sale of hot chocolate and solid cakes and speciallly designed caps, in the 6th edition of the action Posa't la Gorra (Put on the Cap), involving themselves in in a funds collection for AFANOC (association of friends and relatives of children with oncological diseases).
Collaboration with AECC (Catalan Association Against Cancer), constructing little yarn dolls to be sold for funds raising
n Wednesdays afternoons during the months of March and April 2019, students collaborated with AECC (Catalan Association against Cancer) in Torrefarrera by handmaking nins (little dolls) that will then be sold at € 1 in different places, such as our own institute, and will be used to raise funds so that children from all over Spain who have suffered from an oncological illness will be able to enjoy a Summer Camp in La Vall d'Aran (Pyrenees).

On 11th February 2020 our students participated in the Campaign "Put on the Cap". We sold caps and cake with chocolate to collaborate with AFANOC association. We did it in playground time. We collected 500€ for them.
