    Visit to Wales:

One Class: Total Inclusion was never just about creating a project for pupils with specific learning difficulties. Inclusion is a basic right of everyone and this project and its mobilities aims to remove all barriers, discrimination and intolerance making everyone who takes part feel included and supported.

We aimed to structure our daily activities during the mobility so that all our pupils could learn and participate together. The plan was to create a supportive environment for all our pupils including those with learning difficulties but at the same time creating activities that would challenge and enage our more talented and gifted young people by building a more responsive learning environment.

The British Council state that "inclusivity means respecting people from all backgrounds and cultures".

We feel that our 1st mobility did just that and by everyone joining in the activities throughout the week we taught and encouraged all our pupils to be tolerant and understanding of each other. We taught our pupils to value each other and respect people from all abilities and backgrounds.

Through a carefully planned itinerary of events, we successfully created a supportive and respectful environment that promoted diversity and equality.

During the week, pupils were exposed to other cultures, languages and world views. They were encouraged to develop their social and communication skills working collaboratively on a wide range of project activities around the theme of culture and heritage. Everyone seemed happy and relaxed and feedback during the week was highly positive.

From our perspective, the week was highly successful and it was great to see that through One Class:Total Inclusion, we created an inclusive learning environment that not only helped our pupils with learning difficulties but also supported those pupils who did not have a learning difficulty by making them more tolerant and understanding of each other.
