  • A REPORT ON MOBILITY OF THE THIRD COORDINATORS' MEETING IN ŽIRI, SLOVENIA, 7 th to 11 th NOVEMBER, 2016.

In The Žiri Primary School we hosted 8 teachers from partnership schools (2 teachers from Italy, 2 from Bulgaria, 2 from Poland and two teachers from Germany).

On the first working day, (November 8 th), the school choir with the music teacher Mr. Andrej Žakelj greeted our guests with three international songs, then Mr. Marijan Žakelj, the headmaster, expressed his greetings. Later that day the coordinators from Sicily and from Žiri gave a short interview on the local Radio Sora.

The guest teacher then shadowed regular lessons of English in the school, where they also presented themselves and talked about the schools they work at and about the countries they come from. The Slovene students were very interested and they participated in the conversation.

After lunch the guests participated in the meeting where they discussed different subject concerning finances and review of the past events in Mobility Tools application. We checked the acitivities on e-Twinning and asked the coordinator about some topics.

In the afternoon the guests visited The Mercury Mine in Idrija and the exhibition in the Idrija Castle. The focus of the Exhibition is on the industrial development of Idrija and its sourroundings.

The second working day began at 9.30 with a morning meeting where we discussed our next spring mobility of students and coordinators in Germany. This will be the first mobility in 2017. In the end of March and in the begining of April the teachers and the students are going to be in Wadern, Germany at the partnership school. They are going to prepare a rich programme, which will result in a charity fair of woodwork at the end of the week. The funds will be given to a charity organisation.

Then we visited the Shoe Factory Alpina where they presented the company and they introduced their activities including their production line. We were also given different promotional material and small gifts. We were very thankful for that.

Later that day we visited The School Centre Naklo. We participated in a workshop where we were presented a practical lesson. These types of lessons are common in some vocational secondary schools. The students of the school served us lunch and after lunch they showed us around the school and around the estate of Naklo. The students guided the tour in English. Our guests bought some of the students's products in their gift shop.

Late that afternoon the guests were invited to participate in the presentation of wood statues of the local artist, Mrs. Mihaela Žakelj Ogrin. The guests admired her art collection and the procedure of making her work of art.

On the third day our guests had a guided tour on Mineralfest. This sell and exhibition fair included a wide offer in the exploration of space in digital form. Our guests also joined a guided workshop of making jewellery. Later that day they were shown around Ljubljana, they admired the city's beautiful sights, mysteries and important features.

In the afternoon we had a meeting where the main topic was participation of teachers in the area of competences, then the certificates were given to the participants of the third coordinators' meeting. After that the teacher were informed about the fair as a form of making business and advertising.
