Prof. Bonisoli spoke to us explaining his working strategies.

We invite you to read the following:

    Hi guys,

I would like to clarify what my working process will consist of by listing some relevant steps:

    1- the DRAFT

Firstly, write an exhaustive, natural, colloquial description about the communicative aim you intend to convey through your videos (sort of report or bullet points).

    2- CREATIVITY

    Secondly, consider manifold elements:

    - what did you choose as a subject?

    - why?

    - what do you want to underline: which aspects, characteristics, details...

    - how would you like to tell it: news shaped/information style? documentary style? emotional perspective similarly to a short film with more emotions than information? art video? narrative video?

    3- TECHNOLOGY

Thirdly, you will be working with me so as to 'translate' those words, concepts, ideas into images and sound, the so called 'film heading'.

    4- FEASIBILITY

What's absolutely necessary: your projects must be feasible, in the sense that the subject (site, masterpiece, monument,...) should be accessible and shootable (no copyright restrictions or particular permissions, nor any physical obstacles - windows, walls - which could hinder any aerial shots or 3d effects.

    5- AUTONOMY

What I demand is that each student should also work autonomously and independently, so that they come to my practical lessons with their materials to be enhanced in class.

Therefore: 2 first theoretical lessons based on my basic pre-production directions. Cell phones and computers will be your technological instruments, but digital cameras or videocameras will be much appreciated.

    6- FEEDBACK

The assembling and finalizing of the audiovideos will be implemented at the Santa Giulia Academy. It will span the last 3 lessons and we will be working with the software in the informatics lab of the Academy.

    Good Luck!
