Turkısh People Origin

  • TURKISH ORIGIN

The Turkish origin dates back very early ages about 2500s BC. Turkish people were originated in Central Asia (Tian Shan, Otuken, Altai Mountains) and the first Turks lived in Central Asia.

Then some of them moved to Europe with Migration Period (350-800).

(The first records about Turkish people are taken from Orkhon Inscriptions, 730s. And some historical references appear in Chinese records of about 2000 BC.)

Through years some group of Turks left Central Asia and came to Anatolia (today Turkey) in 1071. And in years the Ottoman Empire was established in 1299. The Ottoman Empire had been reigning in Anatolia for years and later it become weaker and more corrupt, the economy was declining rapidly and the Empire fell down.

These days Mustafa Kemal (also know as Atatürk) who was a great general in the army, dissolved the corrupt Ottoman Empire and established the Republic of Turkey in 1923.

Atatürk was a revolutionary leader that he modernised the country completely. The Turkish alphabet was replaced by a more western style alphabet to make it easier to learn. Atatürk also revised the systems to keep up with western development.

More importantly, he is the reason why Turkey is now one of the most liberal and democratic country in the world.

Today Atatürk is considered as a natural hero by many Turkish people.
