Turkısh ROOTS TEAM has kicked off...
To be more clearly firstly we wanted to add two short videos about our city TRABZON ( a coastal city in the north of Turkey) and our school KANUNİ ANADOLU LİSESİ.

Our Project ROOTS was introduced to the students in the classroom...
My students got involved about which country roots they will be found out.
They really felt excited when hearing to be learned about out partners roots...
They shared their pre-ideas about Turkish Roots...
All were volunteers....
.
During the Project process the Turkish dtudents have worked hard to share about the Turkısh roots by the time they have learned many things about our European partners; Norwegians,Portuguesses,Serbians nad Latvians.
While we sometimes studied on the new sharings about our partners on the pages, we also share our own Turkish roots on twinspace.
And they started prepare their last presentations about what they have learned about our partners thanks to our project.
Students are finding out and presenting about the partner roots...
To improve and practise their speaking skills they created their Avatars accoring to our partners stereotypes and they presented the partner countries as Avatars.
They are loading their Avatars..
In the last meeting they shared their presentations about each partners...
LATVIA
I’m Sude ,I want to talk about Latvians that Because of our Project ‘’ROOTS’’ I learned how typical Latvians are and I learned many things about Latvia.
So I tried to create my Avatar as a Latvian streotype.
As Latvians ; Latvians are mostly tall and thin with blue eyes and blonde hair.
Latvians have cold emotions but they love animals,natüre and kids.
All Latvians are hardworking and they like teamwork.
They never lie .
All Latvians like talking about politics.
They love eating potatoes and they like drinking beer.
All Latvians like music and and all of them can sing and dance very well.
Ice-hockey is their favourite sport.
Riga is the capital and the largest city of Latvia.Oldriga is the historical center of Riga.
Latvia doesn’t have mountains but it has a lot of lakes,rivers,meadoes and forests.
In Latvia , there are approximately 100 hundred years old trees but they look small in size.
Riga was the European capital of culture in 2014.
If you g oto Riga,you should visit thr Riga’s medieval castle,The house of Blackheads,The Freedom Monument,The Powder Tower,The national Library of Latvia,the cathedral,railway,the central market , many other churches and the Latvian National Opera.
I’d like to go to Riga.
NORWAY
I’m Emre, Thanks to our Project ‘’ROOTS’’ I’ve learned a lot of things about Norwegian people. So I created my Avatar as a Norwegian stereotype.
As you see ; they are usually tall and thin with blonde hair
Norwegians are always helpful,peaceful and fun.
They like welcoming others.
They can sometimes become selfish and rude.
Mostly they think in a negative way,they sometimes can be cold and shy .
Generally the Norwegians are rich and they like helping people in need ,all Norwegians are charitable.
The Norwegians are farmers and they like working.
Norwegians have many myths and stories with trools.They love their nature where the trolls were said to live.
There are many different people from different cultures in Norway.
Fishing is very important in Norway and eating fish for dinner is quite common once a week.
People in villages hunt Mouse.
Norway is famous for Norwegian pizza,ice-crea and chocolate.
In Norway,18 year old the students ,called RUSS have a party for a month when they finish school.
17th of May is their constitution day and they celebrate it every year in national costumes and traditional knitted jumpers called ‘’Marius’’
Skiing is the most Norwegian’s sport.
SERBIA
Hello, I’m Abdullah, I’m Turkish and want to talk about Serbians.
Thanks to our Project ‘’ROOTS’’ I have learned many things about Serbians and I created my Avatar as Serbians.
AS you see my Avatar;
They are strong warriors.
Serbians are usually tall and well-built people.And the y are beautiful.
All Serbians are nationalist.
Belgrad is the capital city of Serbia. Belgrad is the place where two famous rivers Sava and Tuna meet.
It’s a cheap city.
Skull Tower,Monument Cegor,Memorial park Bubanj,the fortress of Nis,The church of St.Djordje at Oplenat,Nis Fortress are the must see places in Serbia.
There are a lot of other historical and touristic places in Serbia that a tourist should visit.
PORTUGAL
Hello,
I’m Zeynep, I’m Turkish but I created my Avatar as a Portuguese.Because,thanks to our project ‘’ROOTS’’ I have learned many things about Portuguese people.
As you see; most of Portuguese people have Brown hair and Brown eyes.They are usually short and medium height.
They are humble,friendly to others and sometimes melancholic. They are always helpful to the foreigners.
Expresso is their favourite drink.
They love eating fish.
They all respect to their traditions and they love spending time with their families.
Fado is their traditional music and especially adults prefer listening to Fado.
Lisbon is the capital city in Portugal.
Belem Tower,some Monuments in Lisbon,Sintra Palace,Serra the Estrela,Tomar,Santa Luzia,Viana de Castelo,Madeira,Diana Templo and some typical houses in Madeira are some of the toristic and historical sites that you must see in Portugal.
Football is very important for Portuguesses and they are interested in football and also Portuguesses are very talented at playing football.
Christiono Ronaldo who is ever the most talented footballer all over the World is from Portugal.
