"BREAK UP WITH PLASTIC!", the hands-on activity!

  • The volunteers' opinion about the experience

    Olaya López Álvarez

I think it has been a very positive experience and a good way to make us see with our own eyes what happens in lots of beaches and seas all over the world. Also, we could do it near the high school so we didn't have to move very far away, and to me, it has been a way to colaborate and protest because of climate change during the Day against the climate change too.

    My thoughts : Jane Harvey

I think that the activity that we did on Friday (clean up), was a necessary experience for us to sink into our brains that we are paying as humans for our actions or ignorance and that we better start taking care of our "Mother Planet". Beside this, I had lots of fun working with other people my age, trying to clean the beach.

Last Friday, the students of 4°ESO and Bachiller helped our planet cleaning the Vallina Beach in Oviñana. We cleaned the beach in 1h and a half, we collected a lot of plastic and other materials that are harmful for the marine species.
When we were collecting plastics near the water Jane,Emilia, and I got wet all over our feet and legs. We had so much fun,and all of us are proud to help cleaning our planet.

Last friday, the group of 4th ESO (only the bilinguals) and some first and second Bachiller students went to Vallina beach in Oviñana. The International day against climate change and global warming was a good date for our clean-up and we knew that there was a lot of plastic in that beach.
Before going to the beach, some students of 2nd of Bachiller made a presentation to us about the campaign.
When we arrived, we met a dog who spent all de day with us and then we finally reached the beach.
The weather was a bit rainy but we collected a lot of plastic (and other things) and we had a very good time.

Last Friday I wento to Vallina beach to work on our project "Share" cleaning all the plastic and rubbish of the beach.
I think it has been the kindest thing I have ever done.
There was a dog called Modesta that followed us all the way to the beach.
We collected a lot of rubbish and plastic in the beach and there is still a lot of trush left.

    Breaking up with plastic experience

    Erika Faez Fernández, 4ºA
I loved this experience because we had fun while cleaning our seas from tons of plastics which are destroying the environment.
I would repeat this activity without thinking it twice.

    Lian Martínez Enríquez

I liked the experience of cleaning a beach cause I had never taken part in anything like this before.
I think that the high school students involved in this activity and in the whole campaign have worked hard and have been able to do something against Global Warming in our sorroundings.
We collected all the plastic we could find in Vallina beach (Oviñana) so that part of it could be recycled later by the Art students of our school.

    Break up with plastic

    Miguel Cano Menéndez, 4th ESO
Last friday, we went to Vallina to clean up the plastic as we had planned in the Share project. We collected a lot of rubbish like car tires, bottles of water... I think it's one of the best things to save the planet, the oceans and the animals that live there. If we all do our best to keep our seas and oceans clean, we can have a better place to live
