Mobility in Vilnius 3/2019

  • On Monday, March 18, all students from Slovakia, Poland and Romania, together with their teachers, met in front of the hostel to go to our host school in Vilnius. Our hosts welcomed us very pleasantly at the school, informed us about the program for the whole week and introduced the school. They explained the game we played in Vilnius. A physical education teacher accompanied us to the city and there we were divided into groups. It was a very good English language school. They gave us paper, where 5 points were written, which places we had to visit in the city. We had to make a common photo for each monument and make a short video about the sightseeing. When we went through four points, we should meet all the countries on the final fifth point. There was a sweet reward which everybody got. This was followed by an invitation to a restaurant where we could choose from a menu. After dinner they accompanied us to the hostel.

On Tuesday, March 19, we had Earth Day at school. A lot of activities were associated with this day. Pupils prepared for us folding of origamis, activities related to bird's day. We also played the game Kahoot, in which we practiced our knowledge. The afternoon was followed by a walk through the woods where we met and discovered monuments. It was really interesting and at the same time nice experience.

On Wednesday morning, March 20, we got up later than usual. From the hostel we went by bus stop to the train station. The history teacher was waiting for us at the station, with whom we traveled to Trakai, which is registered in UNESCO. We passed the whole town to Trakai Castle. In the castle we were accompanied by a lady who informed us about the history of the castle and the town of Trakai. After the tour of the castle, we went to a restaurant where we were eating traditional Lithuanian food.

On Thursday, March 21, we had a lot of interesting things to do. We tried to cook Lithuanian traditional food KIBINAI, the second group cooked cakes and made chocolate ornaments. We liked this part of the program very much. After cooking and baking we moved to the school canteen, where we had a program in which students showed us national traditions. One of the traditions is the festival in which the winter fades and welcomes the spring. Later they showed us the dances accompanied by music. We joined them to learn their traditional dances. We liked this program because we love entertainment, music, dancing and learning about the culture of other countries. We enjoyed this day.

On Friday, March 22nd, we were preparing videos for taking photos and videos of the visit to Old Town Vilnius. After the video was presented, we played a kahoot asking questions about all the countries involved in the project - Slovakia, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic and Romania. In the first three places there were pupils from Poland. After evaluating the kahoot game, we received certificates of completion of the Erasmus + project in Lithuania.
