“Is Genetically Modified Food harmful to people?”

On 18 December 2017 our students had a debate connected with our Erasmus + project and devoted to the issue of healthy food. The topic of the debate was: “Is Genetically Modified Food harmful to people?”. There were two teams consisting of 4 students, who presented the arguments for and against of consuming genetically modified food. The students participating in the debate conducted a profound research related to this topic and presented the scientific evidence supporting their contradictory theories. The strength of arguments was evaluated by the jury consisting of two teachers (one of them our biology teacher) and two students. Surprisingly, the team supporting GMO won the votes of the audience, but the jury was more convinced by the arguments presented by the opponents of GMO. The debate was conducted in Oxford-style debate.
