Learning Teaching Training mobility to Poland 7-13 April 2019

    Mobility in Gdańsk, Poland, 07.04.2019-13.04.2019

     

    - All countries presented three videos-advertisements prepared by students:

    1- promoting active lifestyle and regular physical activity

    2- promoting healthy eating 

    3- promoting self confidence over beauty standards

     

    - All partners gave Powerpoint presentations about traditional national sports to the participating students, teachers and the host school’s teachers, students and staff.

    - The participants took part in relaxation exercises: TRE (Tension Releasing Exercises) - innovative physical exercises that aim to cause neurogenic vibrations of body, allowing to reduce stress, unload tension, calm down the nervous system and decrease intensity of PTSD symptoms.

    - The students and teachers could learn about the history of national dances of each partner country: halay, tarantella, schuhplatter, csardas, zorba and polonaise.

    - During the artistic programme by watching short sketches the participants learnt about the history of common dishes such as a „sandwich”.

    - One of advanced forms of physical movement is drama. In the theatrical performance "Fifty Ways" which was presented to participants, students and teachers could learn about main environmental and habitual problems of humans on the planet Earth as the ones whose lives depend on the crops. The participants also learnt about the food and its influence on health, also the negative one -  they got to know many English words connected with diet-related illnesses. The last part of the play underlined the importance of physical activities.

    - Students participated in sport activities: they played a volleyball match.         

     

    - The theatrical performance - how to prevent addictions was presented to the project participants. The students learnt English names of different types of addictions, addiction-related illnesses and their consequences on human mind and body.

    - All participants took part in a campaign promoting healthy lifestyle.

    There was the contest for the best anti-smoking slogan - the teachers and students divided into international groups prepared special posters and banners as well as T-shirts which were taken to anti-smoking march in the school’s residential district.

    As a part of campaign there was a tug-of-war: smokers vs non-smokers.

    The participants could also examine the amount of toxic substances in the inhaled air by means of a special device. The results were compared between smokers and non-smokers and interpreted by specialists.

    Visiting:

    - St. Mary's Church - the second largest brick church in the world - climbing 82 metre tall tower, 412 steps

    - City Game for students

     - the Old Town - walk along the Motława river

    - All participants attended a guided tour of the Malbork castle - the largest castle in the world measured by land area

     - learning about eating habits and ancestral sports in mediaeval Poland and Europe

    - Physical activities:  

    - active workshop on Nordic walking

    - Nordic walking in Gdynia, climbing the cliff

    - All participants attended a workshop about healthy diet with a dietician Katarzyna Kazimierczak from Medical University of Gdańsk, Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics.

    - Then all participants took part in a working session about healthy food and Polish food heritage and culinary workshop - a short introduction to Polish cuisine and healthy food

    - culinary workshops - cooking traditional Polish dishes based on vegetarian products

    - visiting Bio Baazar - a lecture about organic and ecological food

    - Because of bad weather conditions and low temperatures instead of dragon boats on the Motława river there was visit to aquapark in Reda and improving sports skills: 

                   - swimming (slide with sharks)

                   - neck and back hydro-massage, different kind of saunas

                   - rafting boats     

     

    - Working session for teachers: presenting the CLIL method (Content and Language Integrated Learning) and integrating it with health, nutrition and physical activity.

    - Working session for students: record your healthy lifestyle

                 -  how to make a video with the English subtitles

    - Attending lectures at the University of Gdańsk:

    - a tour of the Baltic Campus of the University of Gdańsk, Faculty of Biology  

    - a lecture by Dorota Myślińska, PhD 

    “How to learn effectively? - "A healthy body makes a healthy spirit."” 

    - a lecture by Ziemowit Ciepielewski, PhD

    - Urban trekking in Sopot

          -  sport activities: hiking along the Baltic Sea coast and along the longest wooden pier in Europe
