  • ·       Perchiu Hill natural reservation

    Perchiu Hill is a natural reservation situated on the hill with the same name (at the altitude of 398 m), north of Onesti and it is covered with forests characteristic to a forest steppe. Here thermophilic trees and shrubs grow. Overall, in the meadows and forests on the hill Perchiu grow about 600 species of flowering plants, many of which are rare in the country.

          

     A bright cross-monument, with a height of 30 meters was placed at the point of maximum altitude of 398 meters on Perchiu Hill. The metal ensemble was transported by a military helicopter and assembled through a clever system of levers and pulleys.

    In the spring of 2001 the cross was illuminated for the first time. In the concrete foundation of the monument there is a metal cylinder containing a glass tube, in which there is an official document that those who built the Cross on Perchiu hill hope to be found by the future generations. The document mentions the names of those who brought their contribution to the creation of this cross to guard Onești town.

    ·       The Mihai Eminescu monument

    Mihai Eminescu was a Romantic poet, novelist and journalist, often regarded as the most famous and influential Romanian poet. Eminescu was an active member of the Junimea literary society and worked as an editor for the newspaper The Time, the official newspaper of the Conservative Party (1880–1918).His poetry was first published when he was 16 and he went to Vienna to study when he was 19. The poet's Manuscripts, containing 46 volumes and approximately 14,000 pages, were offered by Titu Maiorescu as a gift to the Romanian Academy during the meeting that was held on 25 January 1902.

    Notable works include The Vesper/The Evening DaystarOde in Ancient Meter. In his poems he frequently used metaphysical, mythological and historical subjects.

                                                                 

         The Municipal Museum of History

    The History Museum was founded on March 1, 1958, in Targu Ocna and was transferred to Onesti in 1962. 
    The exhibition presents archeology and local history: archaeological materials, numismatics collection, collections of objects belonging to the Neolithic,Paleolithic, Bronze and Iron Age, Cucuteni culture and others.
