Salvador Dali was born on May 11, 1904 in Figueres, Spain.

From an early age, Dali was encouraged to practise his art.

In the 1920’s he went to Paris and began interacting with artists such as Picasso.

There are Salvador Dali’s Foundation in Figueres.

The orange clock on the bottom left of the painting is covered with ants.

Dali often used ants in his paintings as a symbol of decay.

The work of art he created was “The Persistence of Memory”.

The Persistence of Memory employs “the exactitude of realist painting techniques” to depict imagery more likely to be found in dreams than in waking consciousness.
