    3. Add the crushed garlic, the walnuts and the minced dill as well as salt and oil to taste.
    4. If needed add some water to make the soup as liquid as you like but take care not to make it too "thin".
    5. Put into the refrigerator to cool or add ice cubes.

     Serve cold. Bon appetite!

     1 green pepper, salt

     whole peppercorns

    flavorer/Delikat/

    Preparation method:

     Wash the pork ribs.

Clean the vegetables but don’t dice them, leave them in a whole.

In a pot of cold water, place the ribs and bring them to boil.

When the water boils, add the spices: salt, pepper, flavorer.

When the meat is half done, put the vegetables into the broth, and then season it again with salt.

When the soup is ready, remove the vegetables.

Slice roughly 2 carrots and add the back to the broth.

Cook some spiral soup noodles in a separate pot with a bit of salt and add them finally to the soup.

Serve with some green parsley leaves on top of the soup bowl.

Class 6th G, Escola E.B. 2/3 Professor Gonçalo Sampaio, Póvoa de Lanhoso, PORTUGAL

On 11th November, in Portugal, we celebrate Saint Martin's Day, making open fires to roast chestnuts. Traditionally we call it "Magusto".

So, we decided this could be our first cooking experience at school.

    • We brought the chestnuts from home. Our parents helped to give them a small cut.
    • Then, we added some salt.
    • We asked our canteen cooks to roast the chestnuts in the oven.
    • Finally we put them in paper cones, peeled and ate them.
    • Hot, delicious and very nutritious!!!

Did you know that chestnuts are very healthy? They contain very little fat and no gluten. They are the only "nuts" that contain vitamin C.

    Try our "Magusto"! Enjoy!
