24.Charlotte Faulconbridge, All Saints Church of England Primary School, Coalville, United Kingdom

  • Our school, All Saints Church of England Primary is situated in Coalville, a small town in Leicestershire. We have 224 pupils in our school aged 4 to 11. We are a year 6 class (though some of our cards were from year 1), this is our last term in school.

Our traditional Easter activities involve making Easter cards and learning about the Christian story of Easter. We have been singing Easter songs - some that tell of the events of Easter Week, others that talk about things associated with Easter and Spring. One of our favourites is the Chocolate Song. (The words are in our folder in Materials.)

Our whole school walked down to one of the churches in the town for a special Easter service. We all wore high-visibility jackets, so we looked like an enormous yellow snake walking down the road. We invited our families to join us. We sang our Easter songs and shared some verses from the Bible.

For fun, some of the parents organise an Easter Fayre where we play Bingo to win an Easter Egg - this was good fun and everyone loves finding out who has won the big eggs.

We are now in our summer term when we do lots of tests and assessments. We also get to have fun as the weather gets better and we get to play on the field at lunchtimes and we do athletics in PE.

We have enjoyed opening our cards as we received them and have made a big display for all the school to see. We will put a picture on here for you all to see.
